With the removal of Tactical Stance, it seems like buy bot lobbies bo6 is dialing back on overcomplication. I think that’s a good thing. Modern FPS games have started to overload us with mechanics that don’t add meaningful depth—just complexity for its own sake.
Tactical Stance always felt like a “solution” in search of a problem. Was hip-fire really that broken that we needed a halfway mechanic? Now that it’s gone, the core gameplay feels more focused—aim, shoot, maneuver. No weird hybrid stances to worry about mid-gunfight.
This also speaks to a bigger trend with Black Ops 6: going back to what works. Classic prestige, Theater Mode, improved movement—all of these feel like a return to the CoD that fans loved in the earlier Black Ops titles. Treyarch seems to be embracing what made Black Ops successful while stripping away the fluff.
And I’m all for it. There's a difference between evolving and bloating, and CoD has walked that line poorly in the past. Remember the jetpack era? Yeah. Less is more sometimes.
It’ll be interesting to see how the broader community reacts over time. If anything, this update proves that Treyarch is willing to admit when something doesn’t work and course-correct early.
